School trustees debate Monday

A debate on Monday (Nov. 7) about local school issues will give voters one more chance to decide whom to vote for in the school board elections.

Candidates running for the Board of School Trustees are going to meet at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Eagle Eye Theatre in a forum presented by The Chief.

The five candidates vying to represent Squamish on the school board will join the two candidates vying to represent Area D of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) in the event.

The SLRD race has incumbent board chair Doug Hackett running against challenger Lyle Fenton to represent the interests of those living in Area D.

There are no incumbents in the race to represent Squamish. Andrea Beaubien, Michele Mulholland, Terrill Patterson, Rick Price and Kerry Wallace are seeking the two seats available for Squamish representatives on the board.
