Serious accident in Squamish to shut Highway 99 for at least four hours

The stretch of the Sea to Sky Highway just north of Alice Lake will be closed both ways.

Squamish RCMP are shutting down Highway 99 north of Alice Lake to investigate a serious two-vehicle collision.

At about 11:50 p.m., Monday, officers posted on Twitter that the highway will be shut both ways for at least four hours.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, or ICARS, has been called to the scene.

ICARS is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death throughout the province.
