Quest University is looking for locals to help international students feel at home in Squamish.
The Host Family Program matches families with first-year students to connect once a month with an event, meal or activity — families don’t need to provide housing.
“This program helps students develop a sense of belonging,” Barbara Batista Fernandes, Coordinator for New and International Student Services at Quest, said in a press release. “Moving far away for the first time can be very challenging. Having a second family helps them adjust to life in Canada and learn about Squamish and the Sea to Sky communities.”
Families have the chance to learn about other cultures while sharing their own.
