So much for spring.
Showers, flurries and hail are all possible over the Squamish area today, Environment Canada says.
In a special weather statement, the agency says a strong Pacific cold front will approach the South Coast this morning, bringing rain for most areas.
After the cold front sweeps through later this afternoon, freezing levels will plummet and rain will become mixed with snow over higher urban communities and over inland regions. A few centimetres of snow accumulation are possible over higher terrain and inland.
Thunderstorms producing small hail are also possible this afternoon near Vancouver Island, and again on Friday throughout the region, as an unseasonably cold pool of air in the upper atmosphere settles in.
Friday will be a very unsettled day of weather across the South Coast. Look for a mix of sunny periods, showers, flurries or thunderstorms with small hail.
