District of Squamish officials this week announced the hiring of a former Telus senior communications manager as the district's communications manager.
Christie Smith, who has also served as communications manager with RBC Royal Bank, "is recognized for developing enduring relationships with media and key stakeholders and implementing creative initiatives that enhance engagement and build corporate brands," DOS officials said in a statement issued on Tuesday (Feb. 8).
Smith, who has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree and almost 20 years' experience in the industry, will provide strategic communications advice on council and other District of Squamish initiatives, manage communications and act as a liaison with the media, officials said.
