If you don't have to go into work this week, it may be best to stay close to home.
Environment Canada has issued a snow alert for Squamish and Howe Sound, beginning Wednesday.
A frontal system advancing from the Pacific will result in snow developing this morning over the south coast with snowfall amounts up to five centimeters today, according to Environment Canada.
The public is advised that roads and walkways will become hazardous and that they should stay tuned for further updates and likely warnings.
Lows of -4 °C and highs of -1 are expected for the rest of the week. The end of the weekend is looking sunny however, and it will warm up to 2°C on Sunday. The sun will likely shine on the annual Polar Bear Swim at Newport Beach on Monday, but the forecast is for the temperature to drop to -3°C. Brrrr.
