A snowfall warning has been issued for Whistler and the Sea to Sky region.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning with 15 to 20 centimetres of the white stuff expected Friday afternoon (Dec. 10) into Monday morning on the Sea-to-Sky Highway from Squamish to Whistler.

A strong Pacific frontal system will mean flurries intensify and become heavy at times Friday evening.

The snowfall will ease Sunday morning.

"Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions," reads the alert.

"Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions."

Winter tires are required on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.
