Officials with Squamish's Waldorf school are urging local residents to enjoy and bid on some great, mostly student-created art in support of an ongoing effort to raise money to upgrade the school's outdoor play area.
Cedar Valley Waldorf School has until this July to match a $10,000 grant from the Orcas Anthrophilosophical Trust with fundraising efforts of their own. If they reach their goal, the trust will provide another $5,000 in grant money to go toward creating "a more functional and meaningful space for creative space" at the school, officials said.
As part of the school's "Space To Play" fundraiser, original pieces of art created mostly by students are on display at the Squamish Public Library Foyer Gallery and at the Coffee Tree Café through April 1. In April, the pieces will be moved to Zephyr Café. The items can be purchased by those who meet the "buy it now" price, or bids can be made on each item, with the auction closing on April 19.
