Squamish RCMP last week arrested a 30-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her 44-year-old boyfriend.

Last Tuesday (May 7) at around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 1000 block of Axen Road in Brackendale, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride wrote in a statement.

At the scene, police arrested the woman, who is alleged to have stabbed her boyfriend in the rear shoulder area after a verbal altercation turned violent. The man was transported to Squamish General Hospital for treatment, Pride said.

Police are also investigating an incident a few days before in which the suspect had allegedly attacked the man with a knife, causing a serious injury to his arm. The incident was not reported to police at the time, Pride said.

Woman assaulted

On Thursday (May 9) at around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at a home in the 38000 block of Hemlock Avenue. At the scene, police located a 37-year-old woman who had been assaulted by her 42-year-old husband during an argument. The suspect had left before police arrived, but later turned himself in at the RCMP detachment.

Man arrested

Last Tuesday (May 7) at around 2:50 a.m., police checked a 32-year-old Squamish man who was cycling on Perth Drive near The Boulevard. The man, described as well known to police for property and drug-related offences, had been under conditions not to possess tools used for breaking into cars or homes. He was found with such tools, and with a quantity of methamphetamines and other drug paraphernalia.

Items stolen from car

On Saturday (May 11) at around 8:30 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle having been broken into while parked at the Stawamus Chief parking lot. A rear window had been smashed and four bags stolen. Items stolen included a Canon camera, a computer hard drive and miscellaneous clothing and personal items.

Suspect nabbed

On Saturday (May 11) at 7:21 a.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a home in the 37000 block of Third Avenue. The homeowner awoke to find a woman inside the home, going through his wallet. When confronted, she fled. Police located a woman matching the description given by the homeowner a short distance away, walking along Third Avenue. The 30-year-old Squamish woman was arrested for break and enter.

Vehicles broken into

On Sunday (May 12), police received a report of a vehicle having been broken into while parked in the Garibaldi Park parking lot. The 2013 Hyundai Tucson had both front side windows smashed and the driver's-side door had pry marks on the frame. A 12-volt iPod charger and two auxiliary cables, as well as a pair of glasses, were stolen. The incident occurred between 1 and 6:15 p.m.

Another vehicle was broken into, possibly during the same time period. Its driver's-side door had been pried even though the vehicle was left unlocked with the window down. Stolen were a wallet, a car emergency kit, miscellaneous clothing, contact lens solution and toiletries.
