Suspicious sleeve

Someone called the Squamish RCMP on Sept. 9 to report finding a partial sleeve of a sweater in Harvey Creek a couple weeks earlier. The person was concerned that someone was missing or something bad had happened. At this time, police don’t have a report of anyone missing.

Mischief at Mag’s 99
A woman called the Squamish RCMP to report that she witnessed two 17-year-old boys hitting a window at Mag’s 99 restaurant with a baseball bat on Sept. 10. The boys were startled and ran eastbound on Scott Crescent. They smashed a hole in the window at the front of the restaurant, but it wasn’t big enough to gain entry. One boy is Caucasian, five-foot-six-inches tall with a slim build and dirty-blonde hair in a short-buzzed style. He was wearing a red shirt and black sweat pants. The second boy is also Caucasian, five-foot-six-inches tall with a slim build and brown hair. He was wearing a black shirt and brown pants.

Suspects sought
A Squamish resident called the RCMP to report seeing five male teenagers, two Caucasian and three South Asian, in the backyard of a home in the 40,000 block of Perth Drive attempting to steal a small white dirt bike from the residence. When the resident confronted the teens, they fled down the forested path towards The Boulevard. The young men were all wearing grey or black hoodies. The home is currently for sale and unoccupied.

Attempted B&E
The Squamish RCMP received a complaint from a Squamish resident who reported an attempted break and enter at his home on Main Street on Monday, Sept. 5 between 2 and 3 p.m., while he and his wife were out. When he returned to his home, the man noticed that the window screen next to the door on the northwest corner of the home had been removed, police said.
It appears that the suspect attempted to pry the sliding window open and damaged it in doing so. The suspect or suspects did not gain access.

Rowdy youth
A Squamish resident called the Squamish RCMP to report around 40 youth were drinking and yelling at Pat Goode Park on Sept. 9. Once the RCMP members arrived, the youth separated, running into the park, trails and streets. An officer was able to catch up to three youth, who apologized for running and said most of the other youth had gone home. Patrols were made for the remaining youth, however, none were located. No further complaints were made.

Bikes stolen
A Washington resident called the Squamish RCMP to report the theft of his locked bikes from the back of his pick-up truck sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5.
He was parked in the underground parking lot in the 38000 block of Progress Way. The bikes are described as a green-and-black Scott Spark mountain bike, an orange Jensen Intense mountain bike, an orange Diamond Back mountain bike and a light blue mountain bike.
