$15,000 of goods stolen

Police say thieves took $15,000 worth of electronics and outdoor equipment from a storage room on April 29.

Officers say the suspects drilled out a door lock to access the storage.

They grabbed electronics and outdoor equipment. Some examples include tents, skis, two cameras, a bike, a snowboard, diving equipment, two iPads, and a Gore Tex jacket. Police are investigating.

Impaired driver

RCMP impounded the car of a driver who failed roadside impairment tests on April 28.

The impoundment will last for 30 days and the driver was also issued a 90-day driving prohibition.

On top of that, he will have to pay a $500 penalty to ICBC and will be referred to remedial programs.

Mischief to generator

Officers say suspects tried to access an industrial Caterpillar Finning generator by breaking a padlock at a site in the 39000-block of Government Road on April 30.

RCMP say the damage was minimal but officers are investigating.

Illegal bonfire

Police asked people who had created a bonfire off Government Road on May 2 to put it out, and they obliged.

A campfire ban has been lifted by the District, there is still a province-wide ban on Category 2 and 3 fires.
