Squamish police deal with break and enter

This week's Squamish RCMP police briefs

On Tuesday, July 22, police received a report of a break and enter at a business located in the 1800 block of Mamquam Rd., which occurred sometime between 1 p.m. the day prior and 6:30 a.m. A shop window had been smashed to gain entrance. Stolen was an iPad, a scale, petty cash and a quantity of food. The investigation is ongoing and police are examining video surveillance in the area.

Assault 

On Monday, July 28 at approximately 4 p.m., police attended a residence in the 38000 block of Hemlock Avenue in response to a report of a male being sprayed with bear spray during a dispute. Near the scene, a 34-year-old woman was arrested for assaulting her 35-year-old boyfriend. Both Squamish residents were well known to local police.
