Window smashed
Last Tuesday (June 10), police received a report of a vehicle having been broken into while it was parked overnight in the driveway of a home in the 200 block of Stewart Road in Lions Bay. The vehicle had its front passenger window smashed and was rummaged through, but apparently nothing was taken.
Attempted break-in
On Wednesday (June 11) at around 11:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a resident in the 40000 block of Government Road having interrupted two males attempting to break into a garage at his home. The pair fled on foot. The only description was that they were teenagers dressed in dark clothing. No damage was done to the garage and nothing apparently was stolen. Patrols of the area failed to turn up any suspects.
Vehicle damaged
On Monday (June 16), police received a report of a vehicle having been damaged while parked at an auto body repair shop in the 41000 block of Government Road sometime during the previous week. The vehicle had been left unlocked and the steering column and ignition were damaged, an indication of a possible theft, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride said.
Bikes stolen
On Monday (June 16), police received a report that two bicycles had been stolen after having been locked overnight near the Squamish Public Library. The locks on both bikes were cut. Stolen were a men’s 21-speed, blue Specialized mountain bike and a grey and white men’s 21-speed Giant mountain bike.
