Prohibited driver tries to hide in bushes

As the Squamish RCMP were conducting traffic stops along the highway on Tuesday, July 30, they saw a driver pull a u-turn to avoid the police. However, another police officer was stationed in the other direction. When the driver saw that vehicle, the man pulled into the Shannon Falls parking lot and, after parking the vehicle, tried to run into the bushes. He was found by police and arrested for driving while prohibited, possessing a weapon and ‘flight from a police officer.' The vehicle was towed.

On Aug. 3, Squamish RCMP also caught another prohibited driver who was driving a motorcycle on Buckley Avenue. He was in breach of his recognizance of bail. Once arrested, he was brought before a judicial justice of the peace.

Crossbow targets stolen

The Squamish RCMP received a report of a shirtless male in his 20s taking two crossbow targets from the front yard of a residence on Government Road, in the 40100 block. The targets, which are valued at $150, have not been found.
