Squamish residents were relatively mild-mannered during the New Year’s Eve celebrations this year.

There were no major incidents.

Cpl. Angela Kermer said there were no cases of impaired driving or assaults. Noise and bylaw calls were minor and quickly dealt with.

According to an RCMP news release, there were four cases of vehicle collisions, three noise bylaw calls, and six traffic-related calls. The traffic-related calls were not related to impaired driving.

“We are fortunate in Squamish because our residents have shown they take impaired driving seriously,” said S/Sgt. Gareth Bradley in the release.
