As the Squamish Street Market returns for its third year, it will be setting up in a new location — just follow the rainbow.
Starting on Father's Day, June 20, the vendors can be found along Cleveland Avenue between the rainbow crosswalk on Victoria Street and the Rotary Clock on Winnipeg Street.
"We are very excited about this change," Bianca Peters, president of BP Communications which has produced the event since 2018, said in a press release. "We believe this move will be a huge benefit for our vendors and sponsors, supporting economic development while drawing tourists and the community to downtown."
The Downtown Squamish Business Improvement Associations unanimously voted to support the Squamish Street Market closing Cleveland Avenue to traffic for three days this summer.
"This is a real opportunity to provide vibrancy and a draw to downtown Squamish which can typically be a quiet Sunday," Edward Archibald, president of the Downtown Squamish BIA, said in a press release.
