StartUp Squamish founders David Crewson and Mario Gomes are closing their business incubator on April 30.

One year after opening, StartUp Squamish has decided to close permanently, co-founder Dave Crewson has confirmed.

The business incubator, located downtown and owned by Crewson and co-founder Mario Gomes, will close April 30 and sell off its assets on May 3.

“The building has been sold, and we have made a business decision not to continue some aspects of the project,” said Crewson. “StartUp Squamish... is beyond the reasonable capacity of two local residents to independently finance.”

Crewson added, “Economic development is a community responsibility.... Everyone has a role in building collective future prosperity.”
