Supporting the Canucks? Show us how

The Vancouver Canucks are in the Stanley Cup finals, and Squamish residents are finding all sorts of ways to show their support. One local man now boasts a new tattoo to demonstrate that his commitment to the team is more than just skin deep.

The Vancouver Canucks are in the Stanley Cup finals, and Squamish residents are finding all sorts of ways to show their support.

One local man now boasts a new tattoo to demonstrate that his commitment to the team is more than just skin deep. At the Valleycliffe General Store, a plethora of Canucks' paraphernalia - flags, vintage and contemporary jerseys, even a poster of the owner with the Sedin brothers and the like - hang from the walls, the shelves and even the ceiling. Some vehicles have not one, not two, but a dozen or more Canucks flags, large and small.

The Chief is inviting local residents to send us their pictures and descriptions of the lengths to which they've gone to show their support. Anything fit for a family newspaper is fair game - no flashers, please. Please email your descriptions and/or photos (high-resolution JPEG files) to Editor David Burke at [email protected]. Over the next two weeks, we'll post a selection of your submissions in the newspaper and on the www.squamishchief.com website.
