SVMF releases 2015 lineup

Canadian rapper Drake is one of three headliners coming to the Squamish Valley Music Festival from Aug. 7 to 9.

The lineup for the biggest party of the summer in Squamish has been revealed.

Drake, Sam Smith and Mumford & Sons headline the lineup and the trio bring with them several accolades from the music world.

Canadian rapper Drake has won a Grammy, three Junos and has more number one hit rap singles than anyone ever on the Billboard Hip Hop chart. British singer Sam Smith just won four Grammy's on Feb. 8, including new aritst and record of the year for his hit song "Stay With Me". British folk rockers Mumford & Sons also won a Grammy for album of the year for their album "Babel".

Also appearing at the festival occurring from Aug. 7 to 9 are: OF MONSTERS AND MEN, KASKADE, ALABAMA SHAKES, BRANDON FLOWERS, SCHOOLBOY Q, MOTHER MOTHER, CHANCE THE RAPPER, ADVENTURE CLUB, PORTER ROBINSON (Live), HOT CHIP, THE KILLS, MILKY CHANCE, ARKELLS, VANCE JOY, DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979, SHARON JONES & THE DAP-KINGS, ODESZA, ROYAL BLOOD, ANGUS & JULIA STONE, GEORGE EZRA, BAHAMAS, KAYTRANADA, A-TRAK, TCHAMI, GORGON CITY (DJ Set), SLIGHTLY STOOPID, K-OS, JOEL PLASKETT WITH THE EMERGENCY, FIRST AID KIT, MARIACHI EL BRONX, WHITEHORSE, ROBERT DELONG, HANNAH WANTS, JAMES BAY, ELLE KING, SLOW MAGIC, BENJAMIN BOOKER, THE FUNK HUNTERS, SZA, BEAR’S DEN, ALVVAYS, JUSTIN NOZUKA, DEAR ROUGE, PEKING DUK, P REIGN, TEI SHI, OLIVER, MAT THE ALIEN, THE RIVER AND THE ROAD, WILLA, SCOTT HELMAN, OLD MAN CANYON and LITTLE INDIA.

The locals only sale kicks off on Sunday (Feb. 22) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Squamish Adventure Centre. Weekend Passes also include entry to the Campers Kickoff on Thursday, August 6.

What you need to know:

·       Presale Weekend Passes will be available at $275 plus service charge.

·       Limit of 4 passes per person.

·       Only Weekend Passes are available; single day passes will not be available at this time.

·       Camping and parking will also be available for purchase. Limit one camping pass for up to four campers per transaction and two parking passes per transaction.

·       Resident ID will need to be shown to confirm residence in Squamish. Accepted ID will include a driver’s license with a Squamish address or a utility bill with a Squamish address and the matching name on a photo ID. Residents that cannot produce ID will not be able to purchase during this time.

·       Eligible areas include:

o   Squamish, BC - V8B

o   Brackendale, BC - V0N 1H0

o   Britannia Beach, BC - V0N 1J0

o   Garibaldi Highlands, BC - V0N 1T0

o   Quest University, valid student cards

·       All major forms of payment will be accepted, including cash, debit and credit cards. 

·       Weekend wristbands will be sent out at a later date in advance of the festival via mail.
