Municipal crews are responding to an emergency watermain break on University Boulevard.
The District of Squamish said in a Twitter post that its not clear how many residents and fire hydrants are without water.
The situation will be updated, authorities said.
A student told The Chief that an alarm went off in a Quest University dorm to notify occupants of a flood alert.
However, the impact on students will likely be minimal, as dorms are being shut down today for the holiday break.
