A woman was stuck by a vehicle on the intersection of Winnipeg and Second Avenue on Nov. 15.
Squamish RCMP, BC Ambulance and fire rescue rushed to the scene of the accident, which occurred on a rainy evening.
"With the shorter days and increased heavy rains that come with the winter months, Squamish RCMP are wanting to remind both pedestrians and drivers to be more cautious around crosswalks due to decreased visibility," stated Cpl. Sascha Banks in a news release.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was found to have suffered minor injuries — soreness and bruising.
She wasn’t taken to hospital.
Police say she was riding her skateboard on a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
A driver saw her too late and hit her with the vehicle’s bumper.
"ICBC, District of Squamish, and the Squamish RCMP are running the Be Bright at Night Campaign for Pedestrian Safety and the public can pick up reflectors at Squamish Community Centres and the Squamish RCMP detachment," said Banks.
