VIDEO: GranFondo and Fall Fair Saturday

Bike event road closures will impact travel through Squamish
Fall Fair
Zucchini racing is a popular Fall Fair event.

GranFondo starts at 6:55 a.m. on Saturday in Stanley Park. The final destination for the riders is Whistler. In passing through Squamish, the cyclists will have a race within the race with a Prime at Garibaldi Way. The rider who clocks the fastest time over the 500 metres north of Garibaldi Way will get a green jersey and a $500 spending spree at Corsa Cycles.

Traffic will start to return to normal by noon as there’s a rider cut off time of 10:55 a.m. at Britannia and cyclists have to be at Alice Lake by 12:25.

The Brackendale Fall Fair starts at 10 a.m. Advanced planning is required to get there in the morning as crossing Highway 99 will be a challenge while the GranFondo is happening.
