Sebastian Amenta's first day as principal at Valleycliffe Elementary School was in September of 2006. He announced early in the school year that he would retire at the end of the 2014 school year. On Wednesday, June 4, Valleycliffe students, teachers and parents organized a flash mob event to surprise their prinicpal with a grand sendoff.
Amenta was coaxed up to the school roof, where a lawn chair awaited him. With a tissue box in hand, he watched as students from kindregarten to Grade 7 put on a choreographed dance show to honour his many yeras at the school and his career in School District 48.
