A wildfire located 13 kilometres east of Squamish is still burning "out of control," BC Wildfire Service says.
The 3.5-hectare blaze is along the Mamquam Forest Service Road and began around 5:50 p.m. yesterday evening.
Although the fire is 13 kilometres from Squamish, it is still close to homes and utilities.
“The small community of Ring Road, a power station and hiking trailhead are in the vicinity but are not threatened at this time, although BC Wildfire Service staff are monitoring closely,” reads a news release by BC Wildfire Service.
Air tankers, a 20-person ground crew and heavy machinery are working to put out the fire.
