Worker critically injured in fall at Squamish site

An ambulance, fire truck and Squamish RCMP were called to a worksite on Third Avenue on June 5 after a worker was injured in a fall.

Emergency services were called just before 4:30 p.m.           

Another worker on the site told The Chief the injured man fell around eight feet onto a piece of rebar.

A communications person with BC Emergency Health Services confirmed one patient is being taken to hospital in critical condition. An air ambulance was on the way just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

On June 6, WorkSafeBC informed The Chief that the organization is sending an officer to look into what happened. An inspection report will be generated.
