Youths caught breaking into music festival site

Live at Squamish organizers warn others not to try entering without paying

Two young Squamish residents were caught trying to break into the Live at Squamish music festival site this week, prompting festival organizers to caution others to refrain from trying to do the same.

The incident late Thursday (Aug. 23) is hardly a surprise to us, but it is a huge disappointment, Paul Runnals of festival organizers brand.LIVE, said in a statement issued by organizers on Friday (Aug. 24).

It's disrespectful to the community we're trying to build and we sure hope we don't see any more of it.

Added Ron Lovett, festival security director, We have increased security measures this year so we are very confident that if people attempt to gain access to the site without paying, they will be caught and ejected.

Brand.LIVE's Randy Clegg told The Chief in an email that the incident wasn't reported to police, adding, We won't be pressing charges.
