And the Loggersports winners are...

Several Squamish residents make it to the top 3 in their events during the weekend competitions

Running with scissors may have caused your parents to scold you, but racing with saws, log chokers and axes made many Squamish residents cheer this weekend.

The Squamish Days Loggers Sports Fest hacked, slashed and chopped its way through town this weekend, drawing thousands of people locally and from around the world.

To this end, The Chief has compiled the results from the events. Any competitor who managed to win prize money is displayed in the following pages, along with the amount they were entitled to.

Results are also broken into their respective divisions – open (professional), intermediate and novice.

Not all events had all three divisions participating. For example, the tree-falling competition was only avaible to athletes from the open division.

Squamish locals managed to place well in the events, with many of them getting a fair share of the prize money.

Have a look below and see the big winners!

Local winners

Three locals managed to get to the top 3 in the professional division – also known as the open category – during the Squamish Days Loggers Sports festival.

Jesper Witzke placed first in tree falling. Jamey-Lyn Horth placed second in the ladies’ chokerman’s race. Jacqulin McNicol placed third in the lades’ chokerman’s race.

For the novice and intermediate show, Squamish athletes also put on a strong performance.

Phil Cairns placed first in obstacle pole bucking and third in the chokerman’s race.

Jacqulin McNicol was second in the ladies’ stock appearing powersaw race.

Devlin Hookham made first in the stock appearing powersaw race.

Wyatt Cardiff was third in the junior birling competition.

See below for the prize money that was distributed.
