This past weekend, both Axemen senior men's squads headed east to prevail in matchups against the Kamloops Rugby Club.

The Division 2 unit found itself on the winning end of a tightly-contested 17-13 battle. Down by one point in the game's final minutes, Blake Mahovic helped execute a set play to near-perfection as his Axemen stole victory.

Mahovic, a longtime club stalwart, has also been making waves this year as part of the professional Toronto Wolfpack.

Kane Strachan, meanwhile, put the Division 3 group on his back with three tries as part of a 26-12 breakthrough.

"Big thanks to all the guys who made the trip over, and massive thanks to the [Kamloops Rugby Club] for hosting us all day and night at their Halloween party," said Axemen representatives on social media.

Come this Saturday, Mahovic and his Division 2 mates are protecting home turf at Brennan Park against Surrey, while Division 3 goes south to face Richmond. Meanwhile, the Axes and Oars women's team go on the road to play Chilliwack.
