Championship rounds in Youth Soccer

Finals in the Squamish Youth Soccer Championship will be played this weekend along with closing ceremonies on Sunday, leaving Brennan Park full of excitement as the soccer season comes to an end.

Finals in the Championship round will take place all weekend long from 9 a.m. to noon. Closing ceremonies for U-7 and U9 teams will take place inside the Brennan Park Leisure Centre at 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. for U-11 teams and up.

In the final league standings in the U-11 girls, the Barracudas finished on top with eight wins, four losses, three ties, and 27 points total. The Penguins took the league in the girls U-13 withsix wins, six losses, no ties and 18 points total. In Senior girls action, the Blue team came out on top with eight wins, four losses, two ties, and 23 points total.On the boy's side, Quicksilver took the top spot in the U-11 category, with 13 wins, two losses, one tie, and 40 points overall. In the U-13 boys, the Red Bulls were the victors in league play with 11 wins, three losses, one tie, and 31 points total. Finally, the Bumblebees with nine wins, seven losses, three ties, and nine points total won the Senior boys category.

After the competition in league play, youth interested in rep. soccer for the 06/07 season can try out next week at Brennan Park.

For U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-18, girls and boys, tryouts are April 10, 12, and 19. For youth aged U-13, U-15 and U-17, tryouts are April 11,18 and 20.
