Kyle Quesnel second at BC Place race

Briefs

Squamish mountain bike racer Kyle Quesnel narrowly missed taking first in one of the events at last weekend's Indoor North Shore Mountain Bike Challenge.

The event was part of the outdoor adventure show at BC Place.

Kyle, 13, took part in a number of the mountain bike events held under the dome.

His best finish was in the North Shore Downhill event. He was up against 40 riders between the ages of 13 and 17. Most of the entrants were older than Kyle.

The young rider was neck and neck with an older competitor throughout the race but the eventual race winner squeezed ahead right at the finish line.
