Photos: Squamish athletes climb to new heights

Local youth climbers take on the provincials, with one first-place finish and multiple other solid placements.

Squamish athletes put on an impressive display of athleticism at the BC Youth Sport Climbing Difficulty and Speed Provincials, with one local athlete managing to take the top spot in her respective division.

The competition occurred between April 2 and 3 at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

Cedar Pidgeon placed 1st in the Youth A female division difficulty competition.

Other locals  achieved solid placements in the difficulty rounds.

Nicole McLeod placed 12th in the Youth A female division.

Owen McJannet placed 5th in the Youth A male division.

In the Youth C male division, Jasper Selda took 3rd, Kai Hendry placed 7th, and Emry McJannet snagged 8th.

Jackson Hodgetts placed 4th in the Youth D male division.
