The Sea to Sky Midget Hawks ended regular league play with two wins. On Wednesday, Jan. 28 the Hawks shut down Hollyburn with a 3-2 win. Troy McLean, Jason McClean and Nick Johnston scored Hawks goals. Adam Reid and Jordon Reid were both very strong on defense. This was an excellent team effort with exceptional passing by Kevin Smillie and goaltending by Tom Epplett.

On Sunday (Jan. 31) the team travelled to Seattle and had a 4-3 victory over Seattle Jr. Adam Reid scored two goals, while Ross Pattison and Johnson Narcisse each scored a goal for the Hawks. The Hawks outshot Seattle 46-17, including 21-5 shots in the last period.

This team has come a long way recently with greatly improved discipline and team play. The Hawks will be going into the first round of playoffs this week with some well-earned confidence.

The Home Hardware Atom Rep team just finished playing back-to-back games against Seafair A1. The first game was a shoot-out. They had 32 shots on our goaltender Mitchell Roberts with him turning away 29 of them. Squamish pushed back with 21 shots and thankfully with the hot hand of Spencer Johnston (pair of goals) tied the game up at 3.

Game two was more decisive for Squamish as we took an early lead and never looked back (6-3). Brodyn Neilson, Taran Bir, Dalton Thrower, Mathew Johnston and Dylan Mooney led the way with strong defensive play on the blue line and by earning a total of six assists. Brodie Saulnier scored twice and Jarid Lukosevicious, Ryan Olsen, Lucas Conway and Spencer Johnston got the other goals. Travis Medhurst, Daniel Savage, Brendan Hopkins and Kevin Sander played with a ton of heart and lead the team with incredible forechecking.
