Slo-pitch season takes off with new co-ed league

Sports

The Squamish Slo-pitch Association launched the season Sunday (April 24) with 34 teams playing in three divisions. And this year a team of 16-year-old boys and girls called Young Gunz took the field for the first time.

Teams face off on seven fields from Valleycliffe to Mamquam to the Highlands, all of which have been recently given a facelift by players who cleaned and repaired damage incurred over the winter months.

The season runs throughout the spring and summer until the year-end tournament July 9 and 10.
