The Howe Sound Secondary Sounders senior boys' soccer team is back in the top three in B.C. after this week's provincial tournament.

The Sounders won their first provincial double A playoff game against Caledonia.

"They beat Caledonia 3-0," said Howe Sound principal Peter Hotston.

Jeremy Galley, Tim Porsch and Kabir Takhar scored against the opposing team.

The Sounders wiped the field with their rivals A.L. Fortune in the second game of the provincial playoffs. The Sounders won 4-0. Kabir, Jeremy, Tim and Dylan Ackerman scored the goals.

The third game was a tough one.

"They played the other undefeated champion," Hotston said. The Sounders faced Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School. Pirimin McPhee scored the Sounders only goal during regular game time.

"They were tied 1-1 at the end of regular time," Hotston said. The game went to a shootout, which the Sounders won, putting them in first place in the division.

Tuesday night the Sounders suffered their first loss of the series against Lambrick Park Secondary School from Victoria. The Sounders lost 3-0.

"They just seemed flat when they played against Lambrick Park," Hotston said. "I thought they could have beaten Lambrick.

On Wednesday at 12 p.m. the team played Fraser Valley Christian to decided if they would be in third or fourth place in the province.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw and no goals were scored in overtime so it went to another shootout. Squamish won the shootout to lay claim to third place in the 16-team event.

Kabir was named to the tournament all-star team.

"They've done well," Hotston said.
