Near perfect summer weather drew close to 90 competitors for last Wednesday's Toonie Race. The race course which included the Mashiter Trail, Ed's Bypass, Rob's & Cliff's Corners, and Roller Coaster was in perfect condition as a result of recent volunteer trail work.

The fastest ride of the day came from Neil Kindree, who was just over a minute ahead of closest chaser, Ryan Edwards. Closely following the two Team Squamish Elite riders were Dwayne Kress, Scott Wolley and John Irvine.

In the women's race, Meghan Kindree finished 1st, and was within the fastest 10 riders overall. Returning to top racing form, Lisa Dickson finished in second place, followed by Julie Tennock.

This year SORCA will be tracking the top 15 men and top 10 women each week to eventually crown a 'Top Toonie' and 'Most Improved' riders.

SORCA would like to thank Pepe & Gringos for making Chili and desert for all the riders as well as hosting the after-party on their spacious new patio.

The next Toonie race was held be held on Wednesday (May 11) and was hosted by Boston Pizza. Results were not available at press time.
