It was a good start to the season for the Squamish United U-11 Girls travel squad.
The team kicked off its season at the 30th annual Chilliwack Youth Soccer Tournament this past weekend and placed second after losing 3-2 in overtime to the host Chilliwack team.
The two-day tournament saw Squamish defeat Williams Lake on Saturday (Aug. 23) and a Chilliwack squad on Saturday before losing to another Chilliwack team on Sunday (Aug. 24). Chilliwack and Squamish were locked in a 2-2 tie during the final but Chilliwack scored a goal in the dying minutes to pick up the 3-2 win.
