Youth Loonie Race Sunday

The next SORCA Youth Loonie Race is on Sunday (April 17) for kids age 12 to18.

Everyone races in three categories according to ability, not age with the ability to move up a category if racers find one too easy.

Everyone will collect a participation point for every race Loonie they attend. The top three male/female finishers in each of the three categories receive podium points depending on the number of racers in the category.

Any registered SORCA youth rider who attends any SORCA trail maintenance day will receive HMB points (huge mega-bonus points) which go towards end of the season prizes.

The race will be in the Dump Trails, similar to the high school league course. Sign up at the top of Ross Road at 2 p.m. (bring a loonie). The race starts at 3 p.m. sharp.

The course is an approximately 25 minute loop. Category 1 racers do four laps, category 2 racers do three laps and category 3 racers do two laps.

There will be pizza and drinks after the race for all racers.
