Royal Bank of Canada (TSX:RY). Financials. Up 70 cents, or 0.53 per cent, to $132.79 on 8.5 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Energy. Up 93 cents, or 1.14 per cent, to $82.85 on 7.6 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Materials. Down 39 cents, or 1.12 per cent, to $34.44 on 6.7 million shares.

Hut 8 Mining Corp. (TSX:HUT). Financials. Down seven cents, or 2.40 per cent, to $2.85 on 6.6 million shares.

Athabasca Oil Corp. (TSX:ATH). Energy. Up 10 cents, or 3.05 per cent, to $3.38 on 5.8 million shares.

Under the banner of Canadian Pacific Kansas City, the merger of North America's two smallest Class 1 railways became official Friday morning as CEO Keith Creel drove home a platinum spike at a ceremony in Kansas City, Mo. Combining Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. with Kansas City Southern Railway Co., the fusion creates the only railway stretching from Canada through to the U.S. and Mexico and marks the continent's first major rail merger in more than two decades after a U.S. regulator approved the US$31-billion deal last month.
