VANCOUVER — The B.C. Lions had little to say Saturday regarding the status of quarterback Nathan Rourke.
The 24-year-old from Victoria, who leads the CFL in passing yards (3,281) and touchdowns (25), injured his right foot in the fourth quarter of Friday's 28-10 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders when he was sacked by Pete Robertson.
Rourke didn't return to the game and donned a walking boot.
“Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke was examined by team doctors this morning," the Lions said Saturday in a statement.
"It has been determined that further evaluation is needed on his right foot injury, which he suffered during Friday’s win in Saskatchewan. The club will update his status when available.”
Rourke is a contender for the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award this season with his passing and rushing talents.
The Canadian completed 22 of 31 pass attempts for 375 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 63 yards on three carries, before he was injured Friday.
Rourke finished a 36-yard run in the third quarter with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Burnham.
