QMJHL Roundup: Guay scores hat trick as Islanders blank Moncton

CHARLOTTETOWN — Patrick Guay scored a hat trick as the Charlottetown Islanders blanked Moncton, to stretch their lead in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Eastern Conference on Thursday. Guay has 38 goals on the season.

Guay has 38 goals on the season.

Lukas Cormier and Owen Saye had singles for the league-leading Islanders (32-9-5-0), who outshot Moncton 47-19 in front of 2,750 fans at Eastlink Centre. 

Francesco Lapenna earned the shutout, while Vincent Filion made 42 saves for the Wildcats (21-18-5-1).

TITAN 4, EAGLES 2

CAPE BRETON -- Felix Lafrance scored the third-period winner, while Ben Allison, Riley Kidney and Jacob Melanson also scored for the Titan (28-14-2-2). Ivan Ivan and Kian Bell had the Eagles' (12-27-4-2) two goals.

ARMADA 3, OCEANIC 1

BLAINVILLE, Que. -- Alexis Gendron had a pair of goals, while Zachary Cardinal had a single for the Armada (419-23-3-3). Maxime Coursol connected for Oceanic (22-18-4-4).

FOREURS 6, VOLTIGEURS 5 (SO)

VAL-d'OR, Que. -- Kale McCallum scored twice, including the goal that sent the game into extra time, to lead the Foreurs (21-22-4-0). David Doucet, Jeremy Michel and Landon Miron had singles in the win.

Jeremy Lapointe led the Voltigeurs (20-17-6-4) with a pair of goals, while Simon Hughes, Julien Rod, and Jacob Dion also scored.
