Squamish mainstay Corsa Cycles is changing hands, as announced by the owners on social media last week.

The shop opened in 1982, but current owners Sandra Brull and Dave Heisler have owned it since 1995 and are now passing on the torch.

“Dave and I are excited to enjoy some freedom. Small businesses are a lot of work, we’ve been working seven days a week for a lot of years,” she said. “It’s also been a lot of fun, it’s a lifestyle type of business, and it’s very hard to say goodbye.”

“We’ll miss it a lot,” she said.

They plan to take a year off for travelling and relaxing, but Brull said they have no plans to leave Squamish. They’ll both also stay connected to the shop as ambassadors.

The new owner of the shop is Rob Venables, who also runs Dunbar Cycles, one of Vancouver’s oldest bike shops. The name won’t be changing, the same staff will work at the store, and the Squamish location will be the company’s primary demo centre.

“We’re really excited. The opportunity came along with Rob and it’s a great match,” said Brull.
