Although COVID-19 has closed many doors in Squamish, Brennan Park Recreation Centre's change rooms, washrooms and showers will once again be open for those who need them.

These facilities will be open Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to a District press release sent out Saturday, March 28.

To maintain social distancing and reduce the spread of the virus, up to five people will be allowed to use the facilities at a time and they will be cleaned often.

In downtown Squamish, the washrooms at Junction Park will be open for day use.

However, portable toilets throughout Squamish will be temporarily removed from nine locations.

The District said it does not have the staff to add increased sanitation of portable toilets. The District also said it cannot guarantee a reliable supply of hand sanitizer for these locations.
