Const. Scarecrow has been damaged and abducted, again.
At the beginning of July, the Pemberton RCMP put their cut-out officer up on Highway 99 north of 1 Mile Lake Park just south of Pemberton.
Between July 7 and 11, Const. Scarecrow was damaged.
He was stolen from his Pemberton location on July 12.
He turned up about a week ago in Squamish at a bus stop on Mamquam Road — he was heavily damaged, according to Squamish RCMP, and is unusable. His head is missing, among other indecencies.
"The Pemberton RCMP have been looking for additional ways to slow traffic down along the corridor when police can't be present," said Sgt. Sascha Banks in a news release. "We have had an unfortunate summer of collisions and fatalities in the Pemberton area and any methods assist in slowing people down are invaluable. Like him or not — Const. Scarecrow works."
Last year at this time, the constable was also abducted in Squamish and returned the next day.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pemberton RCMP at 604-894-3449, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to website www.solvecrime.ca.
