Police seek witnesses to fatal accident near Lillooet Saturday

The vehicle went into canal, resulting in the driver's death

If you were up on Duffey Road near Lillooet Saturday, Aug. 9 and saw this fatal accident, the RCMP wants to hear from you.

Police are seeking witnesses to the traffic incident on Highway 99 South (Duffey Lake Road) at about noon Saturday that involved a vehicle leaving the road and ending up in the Seton Lake BC Hydro Canal, resulting in one death.

There were four people in the vehicle. The three passengers were able to get out safely, but the driver died at the scene, police said in a news release. 

Witnesses to the incident are asked to call Ashcroft Central Interior Traffic Services at 250-453-2216.
