Officers seeking 26-year-old Marshal Iwaasa
missing man

RCMP continue to look for a 26-year-old Alberta man whose burnt-out truck officers found around Birken, north of Pemberton.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Marshal Iwaasa to contact them.

On Nov. 24, at about 1:00 p.m., a hiker tipped off Pemberton RCMP that there was a charred truck with items strewn about around the Phelix Creek Forest Service Road, on the way to the Brian Waddington Hut.

Police have conducted searches, but have yet to turn anything up about Iwaasa’s whereabouts.

“We have worked extensively to find any information for Lethbridge Police Service and for the Iwaasa family as to why Marshal’s truck was located on the Phelix Creek FSR and we have yet to be able to answer those questions,” says Sergeant Sascha Banks.

“We know this remote area is travelled more frequently in the summer months and are asking anyone who locates anything that may be of interest to police or has any information to call us.”

 Iwaasa is described as:

       26 years old

      5’11

      170 lbs

Brown Eyes and shoulder-length brown hair with a moustache

At the time he disappeared he was wearing: a green hoodie, grey toque, red high-top shoes, and black pants
