Squamish Fire Rescue rushed to a residential area after an excavator hit a gas line.
District spokesperson Rachel Boguski said FortisBC and Squamish Fire Rescue stayed on scene until the damaged section was exposed and the gas flow stopped.
Boguski says that units have been cleared from the area.
The incident occurred in the 40000-block of Skyline Drive in the Garibaldi Highlands.
