Suspicious people

Police say two males were reported casing the 38100-block of Westway Avenue between 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 14.

They were riding in a grey GMC Canyon truck.

Officers say there’s been an increase in property crime over the past few months.

Police are asking people to report any suspicious activity they may see.

Hit and run

Police say a van trying to take a northbound left turn was struck by a silver Toyota truck.

The van had minimal damage to the driver-side door and there were no injuries, however, the truck driver did not stop and continued travelling northbound, according to RCMP.

Officers say the incident occurred on Squamish Valley Road on June 12 at about 9:15 p.m. The driver of the van was trying to make a turn into the Squamish Valley Campground.

Driving under the influence

A driver was given a 90-day ban on driving, had his car impounded and was issued a ticket for not wearing his seatbelt.

RCMP say an officer pulled over the driver on June 12 for not wearing a seatbelt and gave him a breathalyzer test after smelling liquor.

The driver failed.

Car scratchers

Unknown suspects scratched a vehicle’s left rear panel after a driver left their car along the 37900-block of Cleveland Ave on June 15.
