Today marks the fourth official day Squamish Search and Rescue have been looking for a missing 49-year-old Vancouver man.

Search manager Tyler Duncan told The Chief that crews are combing the Mamquam River Forest Service Road area around Powerhouse springs as they look for Darcy Wild.

Wild’s car was found in that area, prompting an official SAR search to start on Oct. 3, Duncan said.

Wild has been missing since Sept. 24, and Vancouver Police have asked people who may come across him to stay with him and call 911.

Duncan said Wild is reported to have been upset but is not a danger to anyone, which is why they issued the request to "stay with him."

“If people do come across him or know where he is, we don’t want them to be afraid of him," he said.

Recreationalists in the area can help out by reporting any clues they might discover, he said.

Wild has worked in the film industry as a location scout, and so is thought to be familiar with the trail network and dam around Powerhouse Springs and the Mamquam FSR.

He is white, 5’10” and has a slim build. He has greyish, blonde, short hair and was last seen wearing a black zip-up rain jacket with a grey shirt underneath, blue jeans, black boots, and a red face mask.

He was driving a 2015 black Lexus RX350 with a B.C. license plate JS3 50P.
