Someone seems to be poisoning animals in the Pemberton area, and the Sea to Sky Conservation Service wants the public's help to find the person responsible.

Conservation officers are investigating the suspected poisoning of two coyotes and several dogs in Pemberton, according to a news release.

Over the last several weeks, the carcasses of two coyotes were found in the Pemberton Meadows area.

Testing showed the animals died from poisoning.

The poison appears to have come in some type of processed meat.

Several dogs in the area have also fallen ill lately. While all survived, they required care from a veterinarian to do so.

"Intentionally poisoning wildlife is a serious offence under the Wildlife Act, with a fine ranging up to $250,000," reads the Conservation Service release.

Anyone with information about the poisonings or who discovers dead wildlife in the Pemberton Valley area is asked to call the RAPP line at 1-877-952-7277.
