Two separate alleged truck thefts over the holidays have prompted RCMP to ask the public for help on the cases.

“While we are out there conducting proactive patrols, we encourage the public to keep their eyes and ears open and to alert us if they see or hear anything suspicious,” said acting operations Sgt. Damien Maille in a news release.

“We can work together with the community to deter this type of crime.”

In the first case, police say a truck owner returned home after Christmas to discover their truck was gone.

Officers describe the vehicle as a red 1996 Dodge Ram dually truck. It was parked at Bailey Street and Summits View Drive between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 when allegedly stolen.

In the second case, police say a truck was stolen on Jan. 1 between 2:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

RCMP say the truck is a 1995 Dodge Ram 250 with six-cylinder diesel engine, has large grey stripes along the side and back, and black running boards. This truck was parked in the 38000-block of Eaglewind Blvd near Pemberton Avenue when allegedly stolen.

Police are investigating the cases.

Officers are asking anyone with information about either of these thefts to call Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 and quote file #2019-8057 or #2020-6. If you wish to remain anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
